Kevin Steele out as Clemson D-coordinator
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Clemson Tigers announced Thursday that Kevin Steele will not return as the team's defensive coordinator, a position he had held since 2009.
The news comes on the heels of Clemson's 70-33 loss to West Virginia in last week's Orange Bowl. The 70 points were the most scored by a team in any bowl game.
The Tigers finished this season No. 71 in the country in total defense, a marked decline after ranking 19th in 2010.
