Kennesaw State rolls past Point University 56-17
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Trey White threw three touchdowns passes for the first scores of the game and Kennesaw State went on to a 56-17 victory over Point University on Saturday.
White threw 43 yards to Darnell Holland, 69 yards to Chaston Bennett and 19 yards to Justin Sumpter as the Owls (4-1) sped to a 21-0 lead. White finished 9 of 14 for 239 yards. Bennett ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns and added 90 yards receiving.
Leading at halftime 35-10, the Owls added a 13-yard touchdown run by Bennett and a 14-yarder from Jake McKenzie for a 49-10 lead after three quarters.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Owls, who debuted their football program this year, rolled up 699 yards offense, including 391 on the ground via 11 ball carriers.
The NAIA Skyhawks (5-2) had 340 yards, including an 86-yard scoring pass to Connor Reed from Charles Fortis, who was 14 of 25 with an interception.
