Juve hopes to return to win column in Rome

Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - After losing for the first time in 13 domestic matches on Tuesday, Juventus will attempt to bounce back in the Italian capital against Lazio on Saturday.

Juve's 1-0 defeat at Roma in the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia ended the Old Lady's winning run, but the club will get a chance to return to the scene of the crime at the Stadio Olimpico and reverse its fortunes.

Antonio Conte's men will now turn their attention back to the league and try to win for the 13th straight time in Serie A, with the club already owning the record for most successive league wins.

Since a loss at Fiorentina on October 20, Juve has ripped through the league to take maximum points from its next 12 games, moving the team eight points clear of second-place Roma.

With 18 wins from 20 league games this term Juve will be expected to respond positively, and Conte's side will feel even better about the fact that Lazio hasn't beaten Juve in the league in any of the last 18 meetings between the teams.

Roma's Coppa Italia win should boost the club ahead of its trip to sixth-place Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Hellas has lost its last two games, including a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan, but the club will be hoping to continue its strong form at home having won eight of 10 games at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Third-place Napoli is riding a nine-match unbeaten streak and will welcome struggling Chievo to the Stadio San Paolo on Saturday.

Napoli enters the weekend four points adrift of second-place Roma, while Chievo is above the bottom three on goal difference and has failed to win any of its last six matches.

Fiorentina is in the midst of a good run of form having earned 13 of a possible 15 points from its last five matches. The Viola is just three points back of Napoli for a place in the top three and the club will welcome mid- table Genoa to the Artemio Franchi.

Clarence Seedorf enjoyed a successful debut as Milan manager last weekend with a 1-0 win against Hellas and he eyes another three points at Cagliari on Sunday.

Also on Sunday, Inter Milan hosts last-place Catania, Sassuolo and Livorno meet up with three huge points on the line as both teams currently reside in the bottom three, Parma entertains Udinese, Bologna travels to Sampdoria and Atalanta invades Torino.
