Justin Rose missed only two greens and built on his solid play Friday to take the early lead in the Bridgestone Invitational.

For Tiger Woods, it was a small step back.

Rose made four birdies in his round of 3-under 67 and took a one-shot lead over Marc Leishman among the early starters in the second round at Firestone. Rickie Fowler, a runner-up in the last two majors, added another 67 and was two shots behind.

Woods didn't have much go his way. He hit only four fairways and couldn't make a putt, which is not the best combination on this golf course. Woods said the only thing he did well was grind his way to a 71. He was seven shots behind Rose.
