New York Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson stands by his strong criticisms regarding the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri, including referring to police officer Darren Wilson as a "pig" on Twitter and in a published interview.

Richardson, the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, is from the St. Louis area, less than 10 minutes from Ferguson. Last week, Wilson was not indicted by a grand jury in the shooting death of Brown on Aug. 9.

Richardson says Thursday that his opinion of the case involving the killing of is "not a black or white thing," but adds that "a guy got murdered and a guy got off for it."

Richardson says he supports five Rams players who made the "Hands up. Don't Shoot!" gesture before a game.
