Jets QB Geno Smith replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick after suffering knee injury
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles opted to go with Geno Smith at quarterback over the struggling Ryan Fitzpatrick, and it looked like a good call late in the first quarter. Smith connected with Quincy Enunwa for a 69-yard touchdown pass, his first of the season.
Unfortunately, that's where the good news ended.
In the second quarter, Smith suffered a right knee injury and was taken to the locker room. Fitzpatrick was reinserted into the lineup, taking over with just over three minutes left in the first half.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Prior to the injury, Smith was 4-for-8 with 95 yards and a touchdown. He left the game with the Jets trailing 13-7 to the Baltimore Ravens.
On his first drive, Fitzpatrick led the Jets to a touchdown and a 14-13 lead, completing 4 of 4 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.
