Javier Ballesteros to step in father's footsteps
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Javier Ballesteros, the son of late golf great Seve, will play in a professional tournament for the first time Thursday on the same course where his father made his pro debut.
The 21-year-old Ballesteros has entered the Spanish tour event at the Sant Cugat club as an amateur and has been grouped with two-time European Tour winner Pablo Larrazabal and fellow Spaniard Txomin Hospital.
Javier Ballesteros says it is a "double excitement" to know he is playing the same course where his father made his professional debut in 1974.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Javier, whose father died last May, says he has "no pressure for being Seve's son," and plans to complete his law studies before considering whether to take up the game professionally.
