Jankovic reaches 4th round in Flushing
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Flushing Meadows, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Former runner-up Jelena Jankovic was an easy third-round winner Friday at the U.S. Open.
The ninth-seeded former world No. 1 star from Serbia swatted Swede Johanna Larsson 6-1, 6-0 in 58 minutes at Ashe Stadium.
Jankovic was the runner-up here in 2008.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A mild upset came when Chinese Peng Shuai took out 28th-seeded Italian Roberta Vinci 6-4, 6-3 on the hardcourts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Peng ousted fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska on Wednesday.
Three other former world No. 1s -- Maria Sharapova, Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams -- are also slated for Day 5 action in New York.
