Jaguars sign C.C. Brown, place McBath on IR

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed safety Darcel McBath on injured reserve Tuesday with a forearm injury.

Seventh-year safety C.C. Brown was signed to take his place on the roster.

Brown has played in 81 games, including 62 starts, since he was selected in the sixth round by the Houston Texans in 2005.

The Louisiana-Lafayette product has yet to take the field in 2011, but started eight games in 2010 for the Detroit Lions, tallying 46 tackles and a forced fumble. Brown has 369 tackles and three interceptions in his career, which also includes four seasons with Houston and one with the New York Giants.

McBath was signed on December 12 and played in just one game. He became the 23rd Jaguar to be placed on IR this season -- the most in the NFL.

Jacksonville also signed center Bradley Vierling to the practice squad and waived linebacker Sidney Tarver from the practice squad.
