JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed rookie defensive end Jonathan Woodard, a seventh-round draft pick, to a contract.

The Jaguars selected Woodard with the 226th overall selection in last week's draft.

The 6-foot-5, 271-pound Woodard had 174 tackles and 30 sacks in four years at Central Arkansas. He earned the 2015 Dan Hampton Award, given to the best defensive lineman in the state of Arkansas and was selected to the Southland's all-conference first team.

Woodard is the third of Jacksonville seven draft picks to sign contracts, following defensive end Tyrone Holmes and quarterback Brandon Allen. Holmes and Allen were both six-round picks.
