Jacksonville State beats Tenn. State 76-73 in OT
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Nick Murphy had four steals for Jacksonville State, which turned three Tennessee State turnovers into five straight points in overtime for a 76-73 win on Monday night.
With the score tied at 64 and 1:51 to play, Murphy had his final steal and converted it into a jump shot to spark a 5-0 run for the Gamecocks (5-20, 3-11 Ohio Valley Conference).
The Tigers (11-13, 8-6), who finished with 16 turnovers, committed two during the spurt, which was capped by Jeremy Bynum's free throw with 39 seconds to go. Jacksonville State then went 6 of 6 from the free-throw line to seal its first win in three games.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Bynum finished with 13 points and Murphy 11 for the Gamecocks, who scored 18 points off turnovers.
Jacksonville State's Brian Williams made a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in regulation to send it into overtime tied 60-60.
Kenny Moore's 18 points led the Tigers.
