Iowa State backup QB Zeb Noland out for season
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}AMES, Iowa (AP) Iowa State backup quarterback Zeb Noland is out for the season after injuring his knee Thursday during practice.
Cyclones coach Matt Campbell said Friday that Noland, a freshman, hurt his knee in a non-contact drill. Campbell didn't further specify the injury.
Noland threw for 1,627 yards and 17 touchdowns last season at Oconee County High in Georgia.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Noland's injury likely means that sophomore Jacob Park, a highly-touted transfer from Georgia, will serve as Joel Lanning's backup.
