Hurricanes keep Tlusty with 1-year deal
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Jiri Tlusty to a one-year, $2.95 million contract on Tuesday.
Tlusty, 26, has been with the Hurricanes since being traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs in December 2009.
The former first-round pick registered 16 goals and 14 assists in 68 games last season. In 344 career games for Toronto and Carolina, Tlusty has amassed 73 goals and 69 assists.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Hurricanes also agreed to terms with forward Brad Malone on a two-year contract. He split the past three seasons between the Colorado Avalanche and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.
