Hurricanes F Skinner diagnosed with concussion
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner won't start the 2014-15 season with the club after sustaining a head injury over the weekend.
"Jeff has been diagnosed with a concussion," said Carolina GM Ron Francis. "He will continue to be monitored by our team doctors and go through proper protocols in the coming days."
Skinner was felled in Saturday's exhibition finale against the Washington Capitals, on a hit delivered by defenseman Matt Niskanen.
