Houston's Johnson again ruled out with hamstring injury

(Reuters) - Five-time Pro Bowl receiver Andre Johnson will miss the Houston Texans' home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday because of a nagging hamstring injury, the National Football League (NFL) team said Friday.

It will be the 30-year-old's fourth straight game on the sidelines since he was injured during the second quarter of Houston's 17-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 2.

"We made a decision this morning that he's not quite ready to go," Texans' coach Gary Kubiak told the team's website (houstontexans.com).

"We held him out of practice today ... so he could work a little harder on his own with the trainer. We made a lot of progress this week. He's real close, but not yet ready to go, so we got to have other guys continue to step up."

Johnson, who had minor surgery on his right leg on October 4, said: "I don't feel like I'm ready to play. I'm not at full speed yet and I said I won't put myself out there until I'm able to run full speed. That's pretty much it.

"I just have to keep maintaining the rehab and keep pushing myself. It gets frustrating because every week a game goes by that you wish you can be out there, but it's just part of the process. Hopefully next week I can be out on the field."

One of the premier receivers in football, Johnson led the NFL in receiving yards in 2008 and 2009. In four games this season, he has 25 receptions for 352 yards with two touchdowns.
