Goodwillie lifts Aberdeen over Dundee
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Dundee, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - David Goodwillie scored in the 64th minute to help Aberdeen claim a 3-2 win at Dundee on Saturday, lifting the Dons into fifth place in the Scottish Premier League.
The two sides traded goals in the opening six minutes as Andrew Considine scored for Aberdeen, only for Gary Harkins to cancel out the tally one minute later for the hosts.
James McPake handed Aberdeen the lead in the 28th minute when the Dundee defender redirected an attempted clearance into his own net.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Dundee pulled level once more in the 55th when David Clarkson converted from the penalty spot after Jim McAlistair drew a foul on Aberdeen's Ash Taylor.
However, Aberdeen took the lead for good nine minutes later when Goodwillie turned a header past goalkeeper Kyle Letheren from Shaleum Logan's corner kick.
Motherwell dropped to 11th place on Saturday after sustaining a 3-1 defeat at Partick Thistle that saw Partick defender Stephen O'Donnell score one goal and set up another, while Adam Drury's goal five minutes from time handed St Mirren a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone.
