Georgia dismisses freshman DB after he allegedly stole $30 headphones
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Georgia has dismissed freshman defensive back Chad Clay following his second arrest in the last four months.
The most recent incident stemmed from Clay allegedly stealing $30 Apple headphones from a basketball court at the Ramsey Student Center, according to Macon.com. Clay was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft by taking before being released on $1,500 bond Wednesday night.
"Unfortunately, Chad will no longer be a part of our football program," head coach Kirby Smart said in a statement. "It is very disappointing, and we wish him the best in his efforts to continue his education."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Clay was first arrested in March when he and fellow freshman Julian Rochester were charged with felony possession of a weapon -- a BB gun -- in a school zone and second-degree criminal damage to property. The case is still pending.
The 19-year-old Clay was a three-star prospect out of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia.
