Furman defeats Chattanooga 61-52
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Jordan Miller scored 21 points to lead Furman to a 61-52 win over Chattanooga in the Southern Conference quarterfinals on Saturday night.
Amu Saaka scored 15 points and Darryl Evans added 14 points for the Paladins, who will play in a semifinal on Sunday.
Keegan Bell scored 20 points and Omar Wattad and Ricky Taylor scored 12 points for the Moccasins, who played on their home court of McKenzie Arena.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Furman (22-9) held Chattanooga to 16 of 51 from the floor (31.4 percent). Chattanooga (16-16) also was 16 of 29 on free throws.
Furman led 13-0 before Chattanooga scored with 14:37 left.
The Moccasins pulled to within 22-20 before Furman took a 30-24 halftime lead. Chattanooga was within three points before Furman went on a 12-3 run.
