Fulham's Davies faces five months on sidelines

Fulham midfielder Simon Davies could miss up to five months after suffering complications to a knee injury, the English Premier League club announced Friday.

Davies, 31, was expected to return to first-team action soon after returning to training, but he is still experiencing problems with the bone in his right knee and could be sidelined for the first half of the season.

"Simon has a pretty tough injury," Fulham manager Martin Jol said. "He will be out for the next couple of months.

"It is a technical thing. It could be four to five months."

Davies made one appearance this season, but was forced to leave the Europa League match against Faroe Island's side Runavik after 69 minutes.
