Frankfurt's U.S. basketball guard Moye suffers stroke: club

BERLIN (Reuters) - American guard Ajene Malaki Moye, who plays in Germany's top division with Frankfurt Skyliners, has suffered a stroke and will remain hospitalized, his club said on Thursday.

The 28-year-old former Indiana University player collided with a team mate during training on Monday and was rushed to hospital the next day after feeling unwell.

"He has had a stroke and he was until today in intensive care," said club spokesman Thomas Nawrath.

"He is being moved from intensive care today but he will remain in hospital for a while longer. How long is still unclear," he told Reuters.

Moye, who has averaged 10.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season, returned to Germany after a year in Finland. He also spent three seasons in Germany from 2006, playing for Walter Tigers Tuebingen.

Frankfurt are currently in second place in the league.
