Forward Kyle Okposo agrees to 5-year contract with New York Islanders
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Forward Kyle Okposo has agreed to a five-year contract with the New York Islanders.
The team did not release terms of the deal Wednesday.
The 23-year-old scored five goals with 15 assists in 38 games for the Islanders last season. He missed the first 44 games after hurting his shoulder during training camp.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Islanders selected Okposo with the seventh pick of the 2006 draft. He has served as an assistant captain since 2009-10. In 192 career games, Okposo has scored 116 points with 44 goals and 72 assists.
