Fire re-sign striker Nyarko

The Chicago Fire announced Thursday that it has re-signed striker Patrick Nyarko. Per league and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Keeping Patrick with the Fire was a big goal of ours over the last year," said Fire head coach Frank Klopas. "With his speed and ability to change pace, he's shown to be one of the most threatening attackers in MLS over the last few years and is key to our attack."

Nyarko was selected in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Heading into his fifth season with the Fire, the 26-year-old has become one of the club's more experienced players with 99 appearances since his rookie year. The Ghanaian has shown his ability to create scoring chances as he led the Fire with 19 assists from 2010-11.
