Federer oozes class en route to last eight
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}PARIS (Reuters) - Roger Federer slamdunked compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka with a 6-3 6-2 7-5 victory on Sunday which powered the third seed into the French Open quarter-finals.
Watched by top French NBA player Tony Parker on a sunny center court, Federer produced a series of delightful shots including a sublime sliced backhand passing winner down the line.
He suffered a minor wobble in the third set when he slipped 4-1 down but burst back thanks to his vast variety of shots and broke for a second time when Wawrinka netted a volley. He sealed the match with an ace.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The competition will get much tougher for the 2009 winner in the remaining rounds but he looks in very good form on his least favorite clay surface.
