Faulty shell blamed for fireworks accident that injured 2 at upstate NY minor league ballpark
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say malfunctioning fireworks sent errant rockets into a minor league baseball stadium in New York, injuring two spectators.
Investigators say a shell in a mortar set up outside the stadium misfired, causing a rack of fireworks to come apart and sending two rockets through the center field fence Friday after a game at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill.
One rocket skipped along the infield, bounced over the stands and landed on the roof, while the other landed near third base.
