Falcons rookie WR Jones to sit out Sunday
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Atlanta Falcons rookie wide receiver Julio Jones will miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers because of a hamstring injury.
Jones suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Packers. He had just one catch for 16 yards in the loss.
"[Jones] will not play this week. We're hoping to get him back the following week," Falcons head coach Mike Smith said at Wednesday's practice.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Falcons made a bold trade in April's draft, sending five draft picks to Cleveland in order to move up and grab the gifted wide receiver with the sixth overall selection.
Jones, listed at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds, has 25 receptions for 358 yards in five games this season. The Alabama product has yet to score but has two 100-plus yard receiving games.
