European champs Spain crash to 1-0 friendly defeat against Georgia

Spain fell to Georgia 1-0 in their final test before Euro 2016, snapping an 11-match win streak and dampening spirits before they prepare to defend their crown as European champions.
Spain's centerback pairing were at fault for Georgia's lone goal, as a mistake from Sergio Ramos and clumsy stretch from Gerard Pique allowed Jambul Jigauri space in the box to square for Tornike Okriashvili to tap home in the 43rd minute.
Despite holding an absurd 76 percent of possession and taking 17 shots, Spain were unable to breach Georgia's goal, with goalkeeping tandem Nukri Revishvili and Roin Kvaskhvadze only responsible for three saves between them.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Spain has never lost to a lower-ranked team than 137th-placed Georgia, with the tiny country's victory over FIFA's No. 6 side ranking amongst their greatest ever footballing achievements. With Spain's loss, Northern Ireland enter Euro 2016 with the longest unbeaten run (12 matches) of all 24 nations doing battle for the Henri Delauney trophy this summer in France.
Spain still enter Euro 2016 amongst the tournament favorites, but this will surely temper expectations for La Furia Roja going into a tough group D with Croatia, Czech Republic and Turkey, and a competition chock full of quality opposition. At least Georgia won't be there to ruin their dreams.
