Engzelius wins Symetra Tour Championship playoff

Daytona Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Marita Engzelius made eagle on the first playoff hole on Sunday to win the Symetra Tour Championship.

Engzelius closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 10-under-par 278. She was joined there by Jackie Stoelting (64) and Demi Runas (65), who were nine and eight groups ahead of the final threesome.

The trio returned to the 18th for the extra session. Engzelius knocked her second shot to five feet, while Stoelting and Runas went over the green.

After Runas got up and down for her birdie, Engzelius rolled in her eagle effort for the win.

Casey Grice (71) and third-round leader Maude-Aimee LeBlanc (74) shared fourth place at minus-9. Daniela Iacobelli carded a 4-under 68 to take sixth place at 8-under 280.

Thanks to the win, Engzelius was one of the 10 players that earned their LPGA Tour cards for the 2015 season. Those 10 in order were Marissa Steen, Min Seo Kwak, Stoelting, Sadena Parks, Min Lee, Wei-Ling Hsu, Cindy Feng, Kendall Dye, Runas, who moved from 15th to ninth on the money list, and Mallory Blackwelder.

Veronica Felibert started the week at No. 10, but stumbled to a 2-over 74 to end at even-par 288. She was tied for 34th, but didn't earn enough money to earn her card.
