England medics monitor Oxlade-Chamberlain's knee after ligament problem before World Cup

England team medics are treating Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's ligament problems after the midfielder was injured in the team's penultimate World Cup warmup.

The Arsenal player's right knee buckled following a challenge by Carlos Gruezo in the second half of a 2-2 draw against Ecuador in Miami Gardens.

After undergoing scans on Thursday, the English Football Association confirmed "Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a medial knee ligament."

The FA added that the "England medical team are continuing to monitor and treat the injury."

Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to be ruled out of England's World Cup opener against Italy on June 14.
