Distin signs new Everton deal
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Everton defender Sylvain Distin has signed a new one-year contract that keeps him at the club through next season.
The 34-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from Portsmouth in 2009 and has started 91 Premier League games for the Toffees.
Distin's previous contract was set to expire this summer, but the Frenchman will continue his stay in England after agreeing to the new deal.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}His prior stops include a loan spell at Newcastle before moving on to Manchester City for five seasons, followed by the move to Portsmouth.
Distin featured in 27 games this past season in league play for Everton, which finished in seventh place.
