Diamondbacks get to Kershaw, beat Dodgers 4-1 in spring opener

Clayton Kershaw was rocked for three runs on five hits in two innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks went on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 Wednesday in the teams' spring training opener.

Kershaw, the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner with a new seven-year, $215 million contract, struck out two and walked one. He gave up three extra-base hits, including A.J. Pollock's RBI triple and Martin Prado's run-scoring double.

Yasiel Puig went 2 for 3 with an RBI double for the Dodgers.

Arizona's Brandon McCarthy allowed a run on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk in four innings.

The teams met for the first time since the Dodgers beat Arizona to clinch the NL West last year, annoying the Diamondbacks by celebrating in the Chase Field swimming pool.
