Devils land Cammalleri
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The New Jersey Devils added some offense at Tuesday's start of NHL free agency, signing unrestricted free agent forward Mike Cammalleri to a five-year deal.
The 32-year-old winger joins the Devils on a deal reportedly worth $25 million, according to TSN.ca. New Jersey hopes Cammalleri can bolster an offense which ranked 27th in the NHL in scoring (2.40 goals per game) during the 2013-14 season.
Cammalleri battled injuries with Calgary in 2013-14, but still managed to record 26 goals and 45 points over 63 games. It marked the fifth time the veteran sniper went over 25 goals in a season, but it also was the fifth straight campaign in which Cammalleri had played in less than 70 games.
