Desmond Jennings' season ends due to tooth infection

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings will not play again this season due to a tooth infection that required surgery.
Limited to 28 games this year because of left knee injuries, Jennings had been expected to return this season.
"It's been a tough year," Jennings said before Friday night's game against Baltimore. "Can't go nowhere but up."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Jennings had oral surgery this week, which included stitches. He has not played for the Rays since Aug. 25.
