Demba Ba kicks opponent in the face

Shanhai Shenhua striker Demba Ba committed a horrific foul in the Chinese Super League this weekend.

The former Newcastle United and Chelsea man kung-fu kicked an opponent straight in the face while – and we're just giving him the benefit of the doubt here – going up to receive a long pass:

That could have ended very poorly, indeed.

Amazingly, though, Ba remained on the pitch as he only saw a yellow card for the really, really high boot.

What's going on these days? First Messi gets away with a yellow card for head-butting and choking an opponent, and now this? Wild.
