D-backs call up Stites, option Campana
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks selected pitcher Matt Stites from Reno on Thursday and optioned outfielder Tony Campana to the Triple-A club.
Stites, a 24-year-old right-hander, has never pitched in the majors. He had a 2.25 ERA in 17 appearances out of the bullpen for Reno and owns a 2.89 ERA on the season factoring in 12 games with Double-A Mobile.
Campana hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday to beat Milwaukee and was batting .150 in 26 games for the Diamondbacks.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Diamondbacks also transferred pitcher Daniel Hudson from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. The right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012 after twice tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
