In the Paul Rhoads era, the pass rush has always been an area of concern. What separates the good defense from the bad is often whether or not a defensive line can get pressure with its front four, without sending a blitz.

In recent years, the Cyclones have struggled to pressure the QB even when sending a blitz.

That's not the case this year. The pass rush has turned into a strength in the first two games for Iowa State, much to Paul Rhoads' delight.
