Cowboys' Bryant assaulted his mother
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The latest details about the arrest of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant are disturbing.
In a news conference Tuesday morning, DeSoto police captain Ron Smith said that Bryant allegedly assaulted his mother.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the reporting officer arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon. Angela Bryant told police that her son became upset when she asked him to leave the house.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Cowboys wide receiver then grabbed his mother by her T-shirt, causing it and her bra to tear. He continued by pulling her hair and hitting her across the face with his ball cap.
"I can't keep letting him do this," the mother said on a 911 call. "I can't keep letting him do me like this. I'm tired. I'm going to put an end to it today."
The officers observed bruising on the right and left upper arm when the complainant was at the police department for her written statement. She also complained that her chest was sore from Bryant pushing her.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The former Oklahoma State star turned himself into police on Monday and was arrested on a Class-A family violence charge, which is punishable by up to a year in jail. He posted $1,500 bond and was released.
The 23-year-old caught 63 balls for 928 yards and nine touchdowns with the Cowboys last season.
