Colombian runner suspended for positive drug test
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Colombian Palomeque Echavarria has been provisionally suspended from the London Olympics after testing positive for testosterone.
Echavarria was scheduled to compete Saturday morning in the men's 400-meter heats, but did not start.
The IOC said in a statement that a urine sample of his, provided July 26 in London, tested "positive for testosterone of exogenous origin." He was immediately suspended, and a final decision will be announced once his "B" sample is analyzed.
