Colombian runner suspended for positive drug test

Colombian Palomeque Echavarria has been provisionally suspended from the London Olympics after testing positive for testosterone.

Echavarria was scheduled to compete Saturday morning in the men's 400-meter heats, but did not start.

The IOC said in a statement that a urine sample of his, provided July 26 in London, tested "positive for testosterone of exogenous origin." He was immediately suspended, and a final decision will be announced once his "B" sample is analyzed.
