Colombia thrashes Bolivia
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Five different players found the back of the net for Colombia on Friday in a comfortable 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia in South American World Cup qualifying at the Roberto Melendez.
The home side opened the scoring just 20 minutes into the match when Macnelly Torres got on the end of a cross from Guillermo Cuadrado and ripped a right- footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
Colombia took the one-goal margin into the intermission and put the game away in the second half.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}After the break, defender Carlos Valdes found himself in the right place at the right time to tap one home from close range to make it 2-0 in the 50th minute and it was 3-0 for Colombia 12 minutes later through Teofilo Gutierrez, who ran onto a through ball from Torres and slotted it into the bottom left corner.
Radamel Falcao and Pablo Armero each scored inside the final five minutes to secure three points for Colombia, which rises to second place in the group.
Elsewhere in South America on Friday, Luis Suarez and Edgar Benitez exchanged goals inside the final 10 minutes as Uruguay and Paraguay battled to a 1-1 draw.
