Coates seals Sunderland switch

Sunderland, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Sunderland confirmed Monday that the club has secured the services of defender Sebastian Coates on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool.

Coates arrived in England from Nacional in 2011 and recorded 24 appearances with the Reds.

The 23-year-old featured for Uruguay at the 2014 World Cup and has been capped a total of 15 times by the national team.
