Chivas USA MF Mondaini suspended for 4 games
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Chivas USA midfielder Marcos Mondaini has been suspended for four games and fined $1,500 for a tackle last weekend that broke an ankle of Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales.
Major League Soccer's disciplinary committee announced the penalty Thursday, which includes the automatic one-game suspension and $250 Mondaini received for getting a red card. The committee ruled Mondaini's tackle "was reckless and endangered the safety of his opponent."
Morales sustained two broken bones and torn ligaments in his left ankle.
