Charlotte scores final 11 points to beat Texas State 73-64 in Alaska Shootout
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Chris Braswell had 18 points and eight rebounds Thursday night to help Charlotte defeat Texas State 73-64 in the final game of the first round of the Great Alaska Shootout.
Braswell and Pierria Henry keyed an 11-0 Charlotte run that closed the game. Henry had 12 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals for the 49ers (4-0), who will meet Oral Roberts in the semifinals.
Wesley Davis had 15 points to lead the Bobcats (2-2). Matt Staff scored 14 points and Joel Wright contributed 13 points and six rebounds for Texas State, which will meet Loyola Marymount Friday in the consolation round.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Denzel Ingram had 11 points and DeMario Mayfield scored 10 for Charlotte. Staff made two free throws with 5:19 left to give the Bobcats a 64-62 lead, but they didn't score again.
