Carlos Berlocq defeats Gerald Melzer in straight sets in first round at Erste Bank Open
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Carlos Berlocq of Argentina came back from a break down in the second set to defeat Gerald Melzer of Austria 6-3, 7-6 (2) on Monday at the Erste Bank Open.
The 153rd-ranked Melzer led 5-3 but failed to serve out the set in the only main-draw match of the day. The Austrian, who is the younger brother of two-time champion Jurgen Melzer, appeared on a wild card in his seventh ATP event but is yet to win a match.
Berlocq, who is ranked 64th, next plays fourth-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany, who had a bye in the opening round.
