Cardinals bring Wong back from minors
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kolten Wong's stay in Triple A lasted a little over two weeks, with the St. Louis Cardinals recalling the highly regarded rookie from Memphis of the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday.
Wong, rated as the Cardinals' second-best prospect by MLB.com prior to the season, began the year as St. Louis' regular second baseman but hit just .225 with five RBI through 20 games, which triggered a demotion to Triple A on April 27.
The 2011 first-round pick earned a promotion back to the majors by hitting .344 with two home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases over 15 games with the Redbirds.
