Byrd changing his tune: Bills safety now 'open-minded' about staying in Buffalo
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Bills safety Jairus Byrd has gone from being noncommittal to open-minded in softening his outlook about his future in Buffalo.
Though not ready yet to commit to a long-term contract on Tuesday, the two-time Pro Bowl player wasn't ruling out the possibility, either.
Byrd is keeping an "open mind" about staying once the two sides are allowed to reopen contract talks this offseason.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}That's a big step forward. Three months ago, Byrd was expressing disappointment over Buffalo's designating him its franchise player.
A thaw in Byrd's stance comes as he has begun rediscovering his elite form. The fifth-year player has three interceptions in his past two games.
Buffalo (4-7) returns from its bye to "host" Atlanta (2-9) at Toronto on Sunday.
