Braves' Freeman wins NL weekly honor
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has won the National League Player of the Week award for the period of April 16-22.
Freeman hit .478 and paced the MLB with 14 runs batted in on the week. He also tied for first in the NL with three home runs.
The 22 year-old played a key role in the Braves' 5-1 record during the week, recording five multi-RBI games, including knocking in a career-high five runs on April 19, to help him earn the first weekly award of his MLB career.
