Boston's Gonzalez wins AL Player of the Week
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez was named the American League Player of the Week for the period ending July 22.
Gonzalez batted .429 with three home runs, 12 RBI and five runs scored in seven games last week.
Gonzalez has hit .391 with five doubles, four home runs, 22 RBI and 17 runs scored over his last 27 games, hitting safely in 25 of those contests.
