Bony out with hamstring injury for Swansea

Swansea, Wales (SportsNetwork.com) - Swansea City's attacking options took another hit as striker Wilfried Bony sustained a hamstring injury in his team's 1-0 defeat to Valencia in the Europa League on Thursday.

Bony was forced to leave the match late in the first half after pulling up and grabbing at the back of his leg while chasing down a long ball, and he is expected to miss at least the next few weeks.

"It could be quite a serious one," Swansea manager Michael Laudrup said of Bony's injury following Thursday's game. "We'll have to wait two or three days until we get a scan but unfortunately we are talking several weeks.

"It is a blow but that's how it is. You have to accept it and when you have a lot of games this is a possibility."

Bony's injury comes at a bad time for the Swans with the club already missing Spanish striker Michu because of an injury.

The 24-year-old Bony joined Swansea over the summer from Dutch side Vitesse and he leads the club with four goals in 11 Premiership appearances this season.
