Boeljon wins 2nd straight Turkish Airlines title

Christel Boeljon shot even-par 73 on Sunday, but it was enough for her to secure a three-stroke victory at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open.

Boeljon finished at seven-under-par 285 and earned her second consecutive title at the tournament. The Dutchwoman held at least a share of first after every round this year, and matched the tournament record set by Lotta Wahlin in 2008.

The 24-year-old earned her fourth Ladies European Tour victory.

"It means a lot," Boeljon said. "To be able to defend is quite an honor and quite special so I'm very pleased to be here."

Ursula Wikstrom (74) took second at minus-four, while Carin Koch (73) and Carlota Ciganda (75) shared third at two-under. Amateur Charley Hull carded 73 to finish alone in fifth with a score of minus-one.

Ciganda birdied two of her first three holes to grab a share of the lead with Boeljon, who bogeyed her first hole.

But Ciganda couldn't maintain her success during the rest of her front nine, stumbling to bogeys at three of the remaining six holes. Boeljon, on the other hand, rebounded with birdies at four, six and seven to make the turn at minus- nine.

Her advantage was cut to one shot after she bogeyed the 10th and Wikstrom birdied 11. But Wikstrom couldn't make up more ground, and her double-bogey at 15 gave Boeljon some breathing room.

Boeljon needed it, as she bogeyed two of her final four holes.
