Blues reach deal with Roy
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The St. Louis Blues and free agent center Derek Roy have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
The deal, which is worth $4 million according to multiple reports, is pending a physical exam.
A nine-year NHL veteran, Roy split last season with the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks and finished with seven goals and 21 assists over a combined 42 games. The 30-year-old has accumulated 168 goals and 287 assists over 591 overall contests during his tenure in the league, the majority of which was spent with the Buffalo Sabres.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Roy's best season came in 2007-08, when he posted career bests of 32 goals and 81 points with the Sabres. The Ontario native followed with 28 goals and 70 points the subsequent campaign.
