Blue Jackets' Atkinson lands on IR
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Tuesday that forward Cam Atkinson will be sidelined from 1-to-2 weeks with an upper- body injury he suffered in the team's most recent game.
Atkinson exited Saturday's 6-2 win over Boston in the first period and did not return. The Blue Jackets have subsequently placed the fourth-year NHL veteran on injured reserve, with center Sean Collins recalled from Springfield of the AHL to fill the roster spot.
The 25-year-old Atkinson's eight goals in 33 games are tied for third among Columbus players this season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Collins has appeared in 13 goals with the Blue Jackets over the past three seasons, including two in 2014-15. The 26-year-old had 10 goals and nine assists in 28 games with Springfield.
